A surgical tech, sometimes called a scrub, is a member of the operating room team that is responsible for the set up of the sterile field along with anticipating the needs of the surgeon during each procedure.

The circulating nurse, or the circulator, is a member of the operating room team who helps to prepare the operating room for each procedure and ensures all patient safety goals are met. The circulator main role is to be the patient’s advocate.
